Garrett County Memorial Hospital, a progressive, small rural hospital nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Plant Operations.
The Plant Operations Director oversees the operation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant, oversees contractor performance, assists with contract development, schedules and modifies physical plant operations, develops preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, develops maintenance and repair resource estimates, implements maintenance policies and procedure, inputs into the construction process, monitors and improves energy use, ensures utilities availability, ensures accountability for equipment maintenance and maintains reference library and materials. Hospital specific knowledge of State, Federal and regulatory agencies’ requirements pertaining to facilities management.
Degree in mechanical engineering or related fields preferred. A minimum of 10 years experience in increasingly responsible roles in hospital facility management required. Maryland Grade 1 Stationery Engineer license required or must obtain within the first year of employment and CPR certification. Thorough knowledge of most current building codes, NFPA, EOC, Life Safety and Joint Commission standards.

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) Medical Language Transcriptionist. Medical transcription experience, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology required. Knowledge of Meditech and Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with speech recognition editing software recommended. Must consistently transcribe 1200 lines per day. Will work shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Radiographer. Position will work primarily night shift hours (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) as scheduled.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION
TO LAST APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS.
Operates radiographic/CT equipment to perform diagnostic x-ray and basic CT examinations as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgment and attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May act as a preceptor for Radiologic Technology students from Radiology programs that use GCMH as a clinical site.
Graduate from an approved school of Radiology Technology with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Maryland State License. CT experience preferred but not necessary.
