Materials Technician

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time Materials Technician in our General Stores Department.  Receives all incoming materials and equipment, maintains assigned inventory levels, dispenses supplies and ships all materials and equipment leaving the hospital.  Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis. High school graduate or equivalent. Familiarity with receiving/shipping documents, inventorying and issuing supplies.  Six to twelve months experience in related field preferred.  Heavy lifting required.  Must be willing to be cross trained in the Purchasing Department.

Pharmacist

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a part-time Staff Pharmacist.

Position will work full time hours (36 hours per week) into November then will be scheduled 24 hours per week.

MT/MLT

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician to work primarily second and third shifts.

Candidate should have experience of the day-to-day operation of all areas of the Lab as needed.  Performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens, makes reagents, determines and evaluates results, performs quality control procedures. MT/MLT (ASCP) certification or the equivalent is required.

Surgical Services Charge Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Charge Nurse in our Surgical Services Department.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Perioperative Services, the Charge Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of Surgical Services during his/her assigned shift.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.  ACLS required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.  Operating Room experience required.  Five years of experience as a Charge Nurse is required.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Registered Nurse for Family Centered Maternity Suite

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (36-hours per week) Registered Nurse on our Family Centered Maternity Suite.  Position will work primarily night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.), rotating weekends and rotating holidays, plus on-call as scheduled.  Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.

Registered Nurse for Family Centered Maternity Suite

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, currently has an opening for a part-time (24-hours per week) Registered Nurse for our Family Centered Maternity Suite/Float Pool.   Performs professional nursing duties as required in our Obstetrics department as well as various nursing areas throughout the hospital.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the nursing department standard of care.  Communicates effectively with staff and physicians on each unit in regards to patient care.  Participates in QA and Infection Control practice throughout the hospital. May be assigned responsibility for data collection in various areas of the hospital.  Floats between 2 to 3 units.

Must make a 2 year commitment to float pool.

Individual must be very organized, self-directed and creative.  Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.  Excellent patient relation skills essential.  Must be a team player with a positive attitude.  Computer experience helpful.  Minimum of 2 years previous Nursing experience required.  Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners required.

Operating Room, PACU, and Out-Patient Surgery Registered Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20 hours per week) Registered Nurse working from 11:00 a.m. until surgeries are complete.  Operating Room and PACU staff is required to participate in on-call functions.

Performs professional nursing duties in the Surgical Services units as the situation demands and policy requires.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Must be willing to cross train to different areas of the Surgical unit.

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners.  One year surgical services experience required.  Must have ACLS or be willing to obtain within 6 months. 

 

Operating Room Technician

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) experienced Surgical Technician to work 11:00 a.m. until surgeries are complete.  Must participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician or willingness to obtain certification within 2 years is required.  Patient Care certification required.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Cook

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has a temporary full-time Cook position to last approximately 6 months. Position will work rotating shifts between the hours of 5:30 a.m. & 7:00 p.m., rotating weekends and rotating holidays as scheduled.

High school graduate or equivalent with excellent communication and public relations skills.  Experience in institutional dietetics preferred.  Prior experience in professional food preparation preferred.  Clerical experience preferred.

Accounts Payable Clerk

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Accounts Payable Clerk.

Responsibilities consist of processing all accounts payable transactions including matching invoices, coding to the general ledger, processing checks for payment and filing.  Manages petty cash funds and responsible for daily bank deposits.  Assist with Fixed Asset tracking and reconciliation of daily cash postings.                                                                                                

High school diploma required. Two – three years of experience in related field preferred.  Excellent verbal communication, written communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required.  Driver’s license required.  Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities required.  Associate’s degree or certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping preferred.
