Accountant Intern

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Accountant Intern. This is a temporary position to last 4-5 months.

Position will assist all employees of the Accounting department with filing. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries. Assist with entering budget into Meditech, preparing monthly financial statements, annual budget package, and audit inquiries. Will also assist in tracking and locating fixed assets throughout the hospital and making daily deposits at local banks.

High school diploma required. College education in related field preferred. Excellent verbal communication, written communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required. Driver's license required. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities required.

 

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (32-hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative. High school graduate with excellent communication skills a must. Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Will work primary 2nd and 3rd shifts, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays. Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital. Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately. Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities. Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration. Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquires. 

High school graduate with training in typing, filing, and office procedures. Computer experience preferred. Hospital experience preferred.

Housekeeping

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (32 hours per week) Housekeeper. Must have reading, writing and math skills. Must work rotating shifts, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays as scheduled. Previous experience in housekeeping preferred. 

 

Registered Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for one (1) full-time (36 hours per week) Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department. Must work primarily night shift, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners. Must have ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or be willing to obtain within 6 (six) months.

 

Director of Plant Operations

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, a progressive, small rural hospital nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Plant Operations.

The Plant Operations Director oversees the operation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant, oversees contractor performance, assists with contract development, schedules and modifies physical plant operations, develops preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, develops maintenance and repair resource estimates, implements maintenance policies and procedure, inputs into the construction process, monitors and improves energy use, ensures utilities availability, ensures accountability for equipment maintenance and maintains reference library and materials.  Hospital specific knowledge of State, Federal and regulatory agencies’ requirements pertaining to facilities management.

Degree in mechanical engineering or related fields preferred.  A minimum of 10 years experience in increasingly responsible roles in hospital facility management required.  Maryland Grade 1 Stationery Engineer license required or must obtain within the first year of employment and CPR certification.  Thorough knowledge of most current building codes, NFPA, EOC, Life Safety and Joint Commission standards.

Transcriptionist

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) Medical Language Transcriptionist. Medical transcription experience, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology required. Knowledge of Meditech and Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with speech recognition editing software recommended. Must consistently transcribe 1200 lines per day. Will work shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Anesthesiologist

Certified Medical Assistants

1 full-time and 2 part-time Certified Medical Assistants needed to assist in the start-up and ongoing operation of a Gynecology Surgical practice.  High school diploma with training or experience in Medical Assisting in a physician office setting required. National Medical Assistant Certification required or able to obtain within 6 months. Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Garrett County Memorial Hospital, is located in Oakland with opening planned for late May to early June.
