Accountant Intern

Garrett Regional Medical Center, currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Accountant Intern.

This is a temporary position to last 4 months.

Position will assist all employees of the Accounting department with filing and opening mail.  Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries. Assist with entering budget into Meditech, preparing monthly financial statements, annual budget package, audit inquiries and accounts payable duties.  Will also assist in tracking and locating fixed assets throughout the hospital and making daily deposits at local banks.                                                      

High school diploma required.  College education in related field preferred.  Excellent verbal communication, written communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required. Driver’s license required. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities required.

 

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time (32-hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative.  High school graduate with excellent communications skills a must.  Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Will work primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.  Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.

Unit Secretary

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Unit Secretary on our Med-Surg Unit.  Position will work primarily night shift as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays. 

Performs all routine clerical and receptionist duties on the Nursing unit.  Transcribes Doctor’s orders.  Performs all other related duties.

High school diploma required.  Knowledge of Medical Terminology and previous clerical and/or patient care experience is desirable.

Clinical Social Worker

Garrett Regional Medical Center, a progressive, small rural hospital nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Clinical Social Worker.  Responsibilities include: assessing, planning and implementing services for patients and families, including discharge planning, referrals to community resources, Sub-Acute and nursing home placements, as well as emergency mental health Crisis Intervention.  Must have good judgment, assessment and problem solving skills.  Mental Health and Long Term Care experience a plus.

MSW required.  LGSW or LCSW Maryland license (or license eligible) required.  1 year experience in hospital setting preferred.

 

Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time (36-hours per week) Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department.  Must have ACLS, PALS and TNCC or be willing to obtain within 6 months.  Position will work primarily second and third shift but must work all shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.

Family Centered Maternity Suite Registered Nurse

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time (36-hours per week) Registered Nurse in our Family Centered Maternity Suite.  Position will work primarily third shift but must work all shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays, plus on-call.  Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.

Dietitian

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Dietitian. Position will work primarily day shift hours Monday through Friday and an occasional weekend as needed.

Works alongside the Dietary Director for patient menus.  Will see both inpatient and outpatients. Would be a part of the interdisciplinary care team for all inpatients. Provides consults as ordered by the providers.

Experience in all chronic disease conditions such as diabetes, renal failure, cancer, and complicated digestive disorders. Must be nationally certified.

Surgical Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) experienced Surgical Technicians.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician or willingness to obtain certification within 2 years is required.  Patient Care certification required.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Director of Radiology

The Director of Radiology is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operation of the Radiology department.  Maintains the quality of service through qualified staff, management of the budget and accomplishment of established goals and objectives.  Business acumen for development of new services and purchase of new equipment. Maintains current knowledge relating to regulations mandated by government or other regulatory agencies pertaining to all Radiological services offered.  Participatory interaction on all required committees and meetings.

Approximately 3-5 years managing an Imaging or Radiology Department required.  Bachelor’s degree in field required, Master’s degree preferred.  ARRT and Maryland State Radiographer license required.  CPR certification required.  Ability to work with and relate to a wide variety of people.
