Community Health Worker/Peer Navigator

The Community Health Worker works within the hospital and out in the community with specific target populations. Works closely with medical providers, primary care teams, and Patient Care Management Department. Assists clients in accessing health related services including but not limited to overcoming barriers to obtaining needed medical care and social services. Coaches patients in effective management of chronic health conditions and self-care. Assist with discharge phone calls, home visits, and transportation to and from physician visits.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of Community Health Workers training and certification with Garrett College. Driver’s license required. High level of interpersonal skills, problem solving and strong analytic abilities preferred.

Positions will work shifts as scheduled with rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing or have the ability to obtain before date of hire. ACLS required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

 

Clinical Coordinator

Makes frequent rounds throughout the hospital and keeps current on patient conditions and unit activities. Assesses and manages difficult patient care problems. Monitors patient care delivered and takes corrective action required. Obtains medication from the pharmacy after hours. Obtains medical records from HIM after hours. Assures supplies are readily available when needed and obtains them from General Store when indicated. Responds to all emergency situations throughout the building. Assists in making patient transport arrangement during shift.

Responsible for replacing call offs throughout the building when needed. Assures the proper number and skill mix of staff for each shift. Monitors staffing needs and adjusts staffing as needed. Ensures smooth operations of the hospital during the off shifts.

 

Housekeeper

General Surgeon

CDI Specialist

Under the general supervision of the HIM Director, the CDI specialist will assist to develop, implement and maintain the documentation accuracy initiative at GRMC.  Responsible for concurrent review of clinical documentation in the medical record and querying medical staff to obtain accurate and complete documentation. Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology along with strong computer skills,   Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and problem solving with attention to detail. Proficiency in organizational skills and planning, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.

Currently licensed as an RN or current Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) with relevant experience.  Inpatient coding experience and CDIS certification is preferred.  Meditech experience and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Patient Sitter

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking individuals for the position of Patient Sitter to work on an as needed basis.

The Patient Sitter provides services of an observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation.

High school graduate or equivalent. Good communications skills. Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals. CPR required.

 

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time (32 hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative.

Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Will work primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Performs outpatient insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.  Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.  Excellent communications skills a must.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Garrett Regional Medical Center nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a full-time CRNA. 

Provide anesthesia services for 55 bed hospital with coverage for 3-room operating plus endoscopy suites. Large number of scopes, orthorpedic, general, ophthalmology, gynecology cases.  Also do c-sections, GYN, and healthy ped elective surgeries.  Experience with variety of cases and ages. Experience with epidurals, blocks and general anesthesia preferred. Call 1:5 and weekends.  Assists with pre-op screenings.  Must help with Joint Commission requirements for the OR.  Works under supervision of Anesthesiologist.

Must be licensed by Maryland State Board of Nursing or have the ability to obtain Maryland license before date of hire.

Certified Surgical Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Surgical Technician.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician is REQUIRED.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Ultrasonographer

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for an Ultrasound Tech to work on an as needed basis.

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgement/attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound. One year of related work experience preferred. ARDMS or eligible certification required.

 

Materials Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time Materials Technician in our General Stores Department. Receives all incoming materials and equipment, maintains assigned inventory levels, dispenses supplies and ships all materials and equipment leaving the hospital. Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis. Works various shifts as scheduled up to 10:30 p.m.

High school graduate or equivalent. Familiarity with receiving/shipping

documents, inventorying and issuing supplies. Six to twelve months experience in related field preferred. Heavy lifting required.

Radiographer

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Radiographer to work primarily second and third shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Operates radiographic/CT equipment to perform diagnostic x-ray and basic CT examinations as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgment and attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May act as a preceptor for Radiologic Technology students from Radiology programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

Graduate from an approved school of Radiology Technology with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Maryland State License. CT experience preferred. CT certification required or must be obtain by June 2017.

Director Of Health Information Management

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Health Information Management.

Responsible for the management of all activities of the Health Information Management department in accordance with accepted standards and administrative policies including Medical Records, Coding and Transcription. Maintains quality services through qualified staff management of the budget and accomplishment of goals and objectives. Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance and initiates personnel actions. Responsible for the release of information from the medical record. Maintains strict confidentiality as well as HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. R.H.I.T. certification required, R.H.I A. preferred. 3 years of supervisory experience required. 3-5 years management responsibility in Medical Records department preferred. Strong interpersonal skills required. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) required. Must have experience with HIM computer systems (encoder, dictation, transcription and MIS). Knowledge of Meditech and 3M Coding Software preferred. Must have knowledge of ICD10 and CPT guidelines as well as HIPAA and Joint Commission Standards. Strong analytical ability preferred.

Information Systems Help Desk Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Information Systems Help Desk Technician.

Assists with the responsibility for the continuous functioning of all workstations, printers, etc., and a variety of customer support services. Assists the user community of customers with technical expertise in installing, maintaining, upgrading and repairing Hospital owned computer hardware and software. Responsible for IS help desk coverage, resolve

technical problems and difficulties in a timely manner and act as a liaison between the user community and the Information Systems Department.

High school graduate or equivalent, plus 3-12 month training program or comparable experience. CompTIA A+ certification required.
