Security Guard/Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a Security Guard/Facilities Maintenance Assistant to work primarily night shift.

The Security Guard will secure the premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points permitting entry. Maintain high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions.

As the Facilities Maintenance Assistant, the individual will also assist the facility's department in building maintenance and repairs as assigned including but not limited to painting, mechanical repairs, and snow removal.

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

General Surgeon

Garrett Regional Medical Center, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, has a need for a General Surgeon to complement our WVU Health System affiliated hospital.

This full-time position offers great opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial person with a flexible structure; current 1:3 call rotation; salary based on MGMA data; relocation and CME reimbursement; sign-on bonus and student loan forgiveness.

CDI Specialist

Under the general supervision of the HIM Director, the CDI specialist will assist to develop, implement and maintain the documentation accuracy initiative at GRMC.  Responsible for concurrent review of clinical documentation in the medical record and querying medical staff to obtain accurate and complete documentation. Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology along with strong computer skills,   Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and problem solving with attention to detail. Proficiency in organizational skills and planning, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.

Currently licensed as an RN or current Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) with relevant experience.  Inpatient coding experience and CDIS certification is preferred.  Meditech experience and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Surgical Services Registered Nurse

Garrett Regional Medical Center is recruiting RN’s for our Surgical Services Department.  Positions will work hours as scheduled and will participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled.  Must be willing to cross train to other areas of the surgical unit.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.  One year surgical services experience preferred.  ACLS required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Phlebotomist

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Phlebotomist to work primarily second shift 2:30 to 11:00 p.m.

High school graduate or equivalent. Phlebotomy experience required. Phlebotomy certification required or must be eligible for certification.

Director of Quality and Performance Improvement

Garrett Regional Medical Center, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Quality and Performance Improvement.

The Director of Quality and Performance Improvement is responsible for the integration and operations of all performance improvement functions and activities within GRMC. Directs activities necessary to assure effective utilization. Promotes collaboration and develops open lines of communication with department employees, patients, physicians, visitors and other personnel within and outside GRMC. Serves as the leader of our Performance Improvement Model, Lean Six Sigma. Leads the collection of quality reporting and metrics from all hospital departments. Interacts with the Medical Staff on quality data and performance improvement.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Yellow Belt required, and willing to obtain Green Belt or higher. Prior experience with implementing process change and sustainability. Prior hospital experience in PI or Quality preferred. Experience with data analytics. Strong leadership ability and experience with team building and leading. Good presentation skills. Experience with Excel, control charts, and various other data analytic tools.

Patient Sitter

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking individuals for the position of Patient Sitter to work on an as needed basis.

The Patient Sitter provides services of an observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation.

High school graduate or equivalent. Good communications skills. Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals. CPR required.

 

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time (32 hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative.

Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Will work primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Performs outpatient insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.  Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.  Excellent communications skills a must.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Garrett Regional Medical Center nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a full-time CRNA. 

Provide anesthesia services for 55 bed hospital with coverage for 3-room operating plus endoscopy suites. Large number of scopes, orthorpedic, general, ophthalmology, gynecology cases.  Also do c-sections, GYN, and healthy ped elective surgeries.  Experience with variety of cases and ages. Experience with epidurals, blocks and general anesthesia preferred. Call 1:5 and weekends.  Assists with pre-op screenings.  Must help with Joint Commission requirements for the OR.  Works under supervision of Anesthesiologist.

Must be licensed by Maryland State Board of Nursing or have the ability to obtain Maryland license before date of hire.

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking a part-time Diet Aide/Cook.  Position will work rotating shifts between the hours of 5:30 a.m. & 7:00 p.m., rotating weekends, and rotating holidays as scheduled.

High school graduate or equivalent with excellent communication and public relations skills.  Experience in institutional dietetics preferred.  Prior experience in professional food preparation preferred.  Clerical experience preferred.

Community Health Worker

Community Health Workers will assist with discharge phone calls, home visits, and transportation to and from physician visits.

GRMC will provide the community health worker training and certification with Garrett College for those who are interested.

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Surgical Technician.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician is REQUIRED.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.
