Surgical Services Charge Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Charge Nurse in our Surgical Services Department.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Perioperative Services, the Charge Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of Surgical Services during his/her assigned shift.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.  ACLS required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.  Operating Room experience required.  Five years of experience as a Charge Nurse is required.

Operating Room, PACU, and Out-Patient Surgery Registered Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20 hours per week) Registered Nurse working from 11:00 a.m. until surgeries are complete.  Operating Room and PACU staff is required to participate in on-call functions.

Performs professional nursing duties in the Surgical Services units as the situation demands and policy requires.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Must be willing to cross train to different areas of the Surgical unit.

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners.  One year surgical services experience required.  Must have ACLS or be willing to obtain within 6 months. 

 

Operating Room Technician

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) experienced Surgical Technician to work 11:00 a.m. until surgeries are complete.  Must participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician or willingness to obtain certification within 2 years is required.  Patient Care certification required.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Charge Nurse/Clinical Coordinator

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Charge Nurse/Clinical Coordinator.

Under the direction of the Med-Surg Department Leader, the Charge Nurse/ Clinical Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of all patient care units during assigned shift.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.  BSN preferred.  Three years of experience as a Charge Nurse required.

Cook

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has a temporary full-time Cook position to last approximately 6 months. Position will work rotating shifts between the hours of 5:30 a.m. & 7:00 p.m., rotating weekends and rotating holidays as scheduled.

High school graduate or equivalent with excellent communication and public relations skills.  Experience in institutional dietetics preferred.  Prior experience in professional food preparation preferred.  Clerical experience preferred.

Phlebotomist

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (30-hours per week) Phlebotomist.  High school graduate or equivalent.  Phlebotomy experience required.  Phlebotomy certification required or must be eligible for certification.   Competitive salary.

 

Housekeeping

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (32 hours per week) Housekeeper. Must have reading, writing and math skills. Must work rotating shifts, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays as scheduled. Previous experience in housekeeping preferred. 

 

Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for one (1) full-time (36 hours per week) Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department. Must work primarily night shift, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners. Must have ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or be willing to obtain within 6 (six) months.

 

Wound Care Clinical Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital, currently has an opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Wound Care Clinical Nurse.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION TO LAST APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS

This position is responsible for performing professional nursing duties at the Wound Care Center as the situation  demands and policy requires.  Plans, directs and administers nursing care in accordance to wound care policies. Acts as a resource to the hospital for wound care.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with wound care department standard of care.  Performs minor office functions such as assisting with scheduling and discharge needs.  Must be very organized, self directed and creative.  Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.  Excellent patient relations skills essential.  Computer experience helpful.  Previous wound care experience preferred.  Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners.

 

Transcriptionist

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a part-time (20-hours per week) Medical Language Transcriptionist. Medical transcription experience, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology required. Knowledge of Meditech and Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with speech recognition editing software recommended. Must consistently transcribe 1200 lines per day. Will work shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION TO LAST APPROXIMATELY 3 – 4 MONTHS

High school graduate with excellent communications skills a must.  Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Variable hours, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.  Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.

Anesthesiologist
