Certified Coding Specialist

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Certified Coding Specialist.

Position reviews and analyzes In-patient and out-patient records to assure timely and correct ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS code assignment in accordance with state and federal guidelines.  Reports necessary data to regulatory agencies in accordance with reporting requirements and Federal and State regulations.  Reviews and analyzes Cancer Registry cases with data submittal to state registry.  Maintains the Meditech abstracting system in accordance to GCMH protocol.  Responds to various needs for statistical information throughout the hospital and many outside agencies.  Maintains the security, confidentiality, completeness, and accuracy of Medical Records of GCMH in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and adherence to established departmental and hospital procedures.                                                             

Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology along with strong computer skills.  CCA required, CCS preferred.  In-patient coding experience preferred.

Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (36-hours per week) Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department.  Must have ACLS, PALS and TNCC or be willing to obtain within 6 months.  Position will work rotating shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing required.

Maintenance Mechanic

Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Maintenance Mechanics.  Approximately 3 – 5 years of related work experience REQUIRED.  Certification or comparable experience in HVAC, refrigeration, electricity, carpentry, electronics or stationary engineering.  Must have or acquire Grade 5 Stationary Engineer license within 3 months and Grade 3 Stationary Engineer license within 15 months of hire date.  Functions and performs at a journeyman tradesman’s level in one or more construction trades.  Ability to understand and effectively carry out written and oral instructions.  Able to perform assigned daily duties with a minimum of direction.  Must be able to perform moderate to heavy manual labor in various weather conditions.  Also responsible for related activities of the hospital building and grounds.  Must maintain regular attendance and possess positive interpersonal skills.
