Director Of Environmental Services
Garrett County Memorial Hospital currently has an opening for a Director of Environmental Services. This department manager position is responsible for the direction and operation of the Hospital's housekeeping and on-site laundry departments. Experience in environmental sanitation, hospital housekeeping and laundry operations and management is required. We are looking for a candidate with a working knowledge of the basic principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as applied to environmental sanitation, infection control, and choice and use of cleaning agents and equipment. Previous experience in managing an on-site laundry including inventory control, processing and distribution, chemical usage, and supply and cost management is desired. Other qualifications include: Current knowledge of Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental issues and infectious and biohazardous waste collection and disposal. Experience and technical expertise developing and maintaining exceptionally high standards for visual cleanliness and environmental sanitation; for the frequency of cleaning, the methods, procedures, and safety precautions to be followed for the various areas of the hospital; and experience related to the selection, measurement, and proper use of housekeeping cleaning supplies and equipment. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of healthcare institutional experience in housekeeping and laundry and 3 years of supervisory experience including personnel management, budget development, contract negotiations, and cost analysis. Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma an additional education and/or training in the environmental services industry. Emergency Room Technician

Part-Time 20 hours per week

This position will work rotating shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays. ERT experience preferred. Training in phlebotomy and cardiac monitoring and/or previous experience in hospital-based emergency care preferred. EMT-B preferred. Competitive salary and benefits.

 
Information Systems Technician

Full time (40 hours per week)

This position assists with the responsibility for the continuous functioning of all workstations, printers, etc., and a variety of customer support services. Assists the user community of customers with technical expertise in installing, maintaining, upgrading and repairing Hospital owned computer hardware and software. Responsible for IS help desk coverage, resolve technical problems and difficulties in a timely manner and act as a liaison between the user community and the Information Systems Department.

High School graduate or equivalent. CompTIA A+ certification required.

 
Practice Opportunity - General Surgeon
Opportunity to join an existing practice or set up a solo practice. Our growing community enjoys the services of three general surgeons, who are busy enough to need a fourth to share the patient load. The service area includes Garrett County, Maryland, as well as Tucker, Grant, Preston and parts of Mineral County in West Virginia.
