Also maintained by the Loar Auxiliary and Open 24/7, the bright, cheerful atmosphere of Cup o’ Joe, adjacent to the main lobby  provides visitors and staff with a welcome break, gourmet coffee, and tasty snacks in a non-traditional vending area.

The Loar Auxiliary  was founded in 1976 and named to commemorate  George W. Loar, the Hospital’s original benefactor.. 

The bustling Shop is efficiently run and operated by an enthusiastic group of volunteers, passionate about the Shop’s success.  They work hard keeping it well-stocked, assisting customers, and ensuring a clean, cheery showroom.  All proceeds from the Gift Shop benefit the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
