Patient Liaison 

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Patient Liaison.

Accurately pre-certifies and verifies insurance coverage, eligibility and benefits on scheduled same day surgery accounts.  Responsible for verifying same day surgery authorizations.  Discusses and documents insurance coverage, eligibility, and anticipated out-of-pocket expenses with all applicable patients.  Able to accept payments, write receipts, handle money, and process all payment types, including credit card transactions accurately. Discuss The Caring Program with patients and able to collect all required documentation.  Process results for requests that can be released immediately for ROI and keep an accurate and detailed record of all requests in Meditech (ROI module).  Register patients for GRMC’s Patient Portal.           

High school graduate required.  Three year’s work experience required in related fields.  Should have a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance requirements, HIPPA and other applicable regulations associated with medical claims.  Thorough knowledge of Meditech Release of Information (ROI) application preferred.  Must possess computer skills necessary to preform duties in a time sensitive and effective manner.  Office knowledge of telephone, scanning and faxing required.  Thorough knowledge of Meditech Portal applications preferred.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a Patient Care Access Representative to work 32+ hours per week.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION TO LAST APPROXIMATELY 3 – 4 MONTHS

Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Will work variable hours, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration. 

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.  Good communication skills a must.

 

Credentialing and Contracting Specialist

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Credentialing and Contracting Specialist in our Patient Financial Services Department.

Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for all medical providers who provide patient care for Professional Emergency Physician Services (PEPS).  Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed and appointed with health plans.  Maintains up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. Updates and maintains contracts with payers (Insurances, Medicare and Medicaids) for GRMC, PEPS and Sub-Acute.                                                                      

High school graduate required, Associates Degree in business related field preferred.  Experience in lieu of education will also be considered.  3-5 years’ experience with credentialing and contracting preferred.  Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance requirements a plus.  Confidentiality required.  Excellent written and oral communication skills required.  Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat computer skills preferred. Office knowledge of telephone, scanning and faxing required.

Certified Surgical Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Surgical Technician.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical is REQUIRED.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Information Systems Analyst

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Information Systems Analyst.

The IS Analyst is a professional support position within the Information Systems department that assumes responsibility for the continuous day-to-day functioning of a variety of application software.  Acts as a liaison between departments and software vendor and facilitates problem reporting and resolution.  Coordinates training and orientation of new employees with system functionality and definition of access needs.  Assists with the installation or implementation and testing of new routines and functions.  Also coordinates and oversees the testing of upgrades among all modules. NPR, SQL, HL7 knowledge required. Meditech Client Server experience preferred.                                                     

Must have abilities sufficient to gather and interpret data for solution of complex problems.  Must have ability to type and operate computer software.  Clinical experience preferred.

 

Housekeeper

Housekeepers needed.  Must work rotating shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays as scheduled.  Must have reading, writing and math skills.  Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Director of Laboratory Services

Garrett Regional Medical Center, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Laboratory Services.

The Lab Director is responsible for administration and operation of the laboratory department.  Coordinates a wide variety of administrative, fiscal and technical activities to ensure efficient operation of the clinical laboratory. 

Must have BS degree in Medical Technology required.  5 – 8 years of related work experience required. Previous management experience at the director or supervisor level preferred.  Ability to handle multiple priorities and multi-task.  Computer skills sufficient to manage, troubleshoot, and support software modules used in the Lab.  Knowledge of quality control programs and measures required to operate the Lab.  Effective oral and written communications.  Knowledge of all regulatory and accrediting requirements pertaining to the various laboratory sections including CAP, AABB, and CLIA.   Knowledge of Laboratory billing/charging requirements.  Participating interaction on all required committees and meetings.  Supervisory skills necessary to guide a variety of employees and their various duties.
