Patient Sitter

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking individuals for the position of Patient Sitter to work on an as needed basis.

The Patient Sitter provides services of an observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation.

High school graduate or equivalent. Good communications skills. Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals. CPR required.

 

Patient Care Access Representative

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time (32 hours per week) Patient Care Access Representative.

Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Will work primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.  Responsible for accurately obtaining all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Performs outpatient insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.  Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High school graduate with training in typing, filing and office procedures.  Computer experience preferred.  Hospital experience preferred.  Excellent communications skills a must.

Emergency Deparmtnet Nurse Practitioner 

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to work in our Emergency Department on a per diem basis.

Under the direct supervision of the Emergency Department Physician, the CRNP will primarily work 10-hour shifts as needed.

This position requires a current Maryland license including the required credentials for granting prescriptive authority.  At least 2 years of experience in primary, urgent or emergency care is preferred.  Professional knowledge and skills for patient diagnosis and treatment in the emergency department setting are required.

 

Marketing Coordinator

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Marketing Coordinator.

Assists the Director in planning, implementing, and coordinating hospital marketing, public relations, events, and social media.  Process and track payments/donations made to the Foundation and produce acknowledgement letters as needed.

High school diploma and over 8 years of clerical and/or administrative experience preferred.  An Associate’s Degree in Marketing or Public Relations preferred. Driver’s license required.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Garrett Regional Medical Center nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a full-time CRNA. 

Provide anesthesia services for 55 bed hospital with coverage for 3-room operating plus endoscopy suites. Large number of scopes, orthorpedic, general, ophthalmology, gynecology cases.  Also do c-sections, GYN, and healthy ped elective surgeries.  Experience with variety of cases and ages. Experience with epidurals, blocks and general anesthesia preferred. Call 1:5 and weekends.  Assists with pre-op screenings.  Must help with Joint Commission requirements for the OR.  Works under supervision of Anesthesiologist.

Must be licensed by Maryland State Board of Nursing or have the ability to obtain Maryland license before date of hire.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant on our Med-Surg Unit.  Position will work primarily night shift, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays.  High school graduate with nursing assistant experience or training preferred.   MUST be certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Security Guard/Facilities Maintenance Assistant

 

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a Security Guard/Facilities Maintenance Assistant to work primarily night shift.

The Security Guard will secure the premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points permitting entry. Maintain high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions.

As the Facilities Maintenance Assistant, the individual will also assist the facility's department in building maintenance and repairs as assigned including but not limited to painting, mechanical repairs, and snow removal.         

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Utilization Management Nurse

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Utilization Management Nurse.

Reviews admissions data to determine medical necessity and appropriateness of admission and continued length of stay based on approved criteria and standards.  Collects, records and monitors data needed for review documentation in compliance with regulatory agencies and third party payors. Communicates with third party payors to obtain financial certifications for inpatients.  Interfaces with other hospital departments and physicians in matters of review decisions, discharge planning, and fiscal communications.  Assists physicians, patients and/or families on reconsideration and appeal procedure as available for potential or actual denials.  Performs Concurrent Querying on in-patient charts to assist with physician documentation accuracy, coding accuracy and with addressing Core Measures.  Collects necessary utilization statistics. Fulfills insurance payor audit inquiries. 

A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience. Current Maryland State RN licensure required.  BSN required.  Performance Improvement/Utilization experience required.  Meditech experience preferred.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician

GRMC currently has a part-time opportunity for an MT or MLT. Candidate should have experience of the day-to-day operation of all areas of the Lab as needed.  Performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens, makes reagents, determines and evaluates results, performs quality control procedures. Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Surgical Technician.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical Technician is REQUIRED.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.
