Positions will work as scheduled, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing is required.

Cancer Care Registered Nurse

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Registered Nurse position available in the Cancer Care Unit.

Responsible for professional nursing duties with a working knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and associated side effects, good patient teaching skills and a thorough understanding of various treatment programs.  Must have excellent communication skills to provide educational information to patients and families pertaining to the administration of chemotherapy.  Schedules necessary appointments for tests and follow-up appointments.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners. CPR, ACLS, and OCN and/or CRNI required.

Chemotherapy administration experience required.

Certified Surgical Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Certified Surgical Technician.  Position will work as scheduled and will participate in the on-call schedule.

Under the direction of the Surgeon and/or the RN, the OR Tech is responsible for performing various technical functions in preparing for, and assisting with, surgical procedures.  Maintains and cares for the unit, equipment and supplies.  Provides patient comfort and safety.

Certification as a Surgical is REQUIRED.  Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required.

Information Systems Analyst

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time (40-hours per week) Information Systems Analyst.

The IS Analyst is a professional support position within the Information Systems department that assumes responsibility for the continuous day-to-day functioning of a variety of application software.  Acts as a liaison between departments and software vendor and facilitates problem reporting and resolution.  Coordinates training and orientation of new employees with system functionality and definition of access needs.  Assists with the installation or implementation and testing of new routines and functions.  Also coordinates and oversees the testing of upgrades among all modules. NPR, SQL, HL7 knowledge required. Meditech Client Server experience preferred.                                                     

Must have abilities sufficient to gather and interpret data for solution of complex problems.  Must have ability to type and operate computer software.  Clinical experience preferred.

 

Radiographer

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has openings for a full-time and a part-time Radiographer to work primarily second and third shifts, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Operates radiographic/CT equipment to perform diagnostic x-ray and basic CT examinations as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgment and attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May act as a preceptor for Radiologic Technology students from Radiology programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.                                                              

Graduate from an approved school of Radiology Technology with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Maryland State License.  CT experience preferred.  CT certification required or must be obtain by June 2017.

Patient Sitter

Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking individuals for the position of Patient Sitter to work on an as needed basis.

The Patient Sitter provides services of an observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation.

High school graduate or equivalent.  Good communication skills.  Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals.  CPR required.

 

Phlebotomist

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a part-time Phlebotomist.  High school graduate or equivalent.  Phlebotomy experience required.  Phlebotomy certification required or must be eligible for certification.

Respiratory Care Practitioner

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has openings for a full-time Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Performs professional respiratory therapy duties in the Cardiac & Pulmonary  Rehabilitation department.  Plans, directs and administers respiratory care in accordance to rehabilitation policies for patients with chronic airway disease.  Acts as a resource to the hospital for cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation.  Assists with patient education, home therapy plans and follow up.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner.  Performs minor office functions such as assisting with scheduling, patient registration, authorizations, completion of ITP plans, and discharge needs.        

Must be very organized, self-directed and creative.  Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.  Excellent patient relations skills essential.  Computer experience helpful. 

Maryland State Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification required.  CPR and ACLS certification required.

Materials Technician

Garrett Regional Medical Center currently has an opening for a full-time Materials Technician in our General Stores Department.  Receives all incoming materials and equipment, maintains assigned inventory levels, dispenses supplies and ships all materials and equipment leaving the hospital.  Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis.

High school graduate or equivalent.  Familiarity with receiving/shipping documents, inventorying and issuing supplies.  Six to twelve months experience in related field preferred.  Heavy lifting required.  Must be willing to be cross trained in the Purchasing Department.

Housekeeper

Director of Laboratory Services

Garrett Regional Medical Center, nestled in the scenic mountains of beautiful western Maryland, currently has an opening for a Director of Laboratory Services.

The Lab Director is responsible for administration and operation of the laboratory department.  Coordinates a wide variety of administrative, fiscal and technical activities to ensure efficient operation of the clinical laboratory. 

Must have BS degree in Medical Technology required.  5 – 8 years of related work experience required. Previous management experience at the director or supervisor level preferred.  Ability to handle multiple priorities and multi-task.  Computer skills sufficient to manage, troubleshoot, and support software modules used in the Lab.  Knowledge of quality control programs and measures required to operate the Lab.  Effective oral and written communications.  Knowledge of all regulatory and accrediting requirements pertaining to the various laboratory sections including CAP, AABB, and CLIA.   Knowledge of Laboratory billing/charging requirements.  Participating interaction on all required committees and meetings.  Supervisory skills necessary to guide a variety of employees and their various duties.
